Historic "Peace to Prosperity" conference inaugurates a bright future in the heart of the Arab world amidst Palestine ire

For month’s we’ve been watching the reactions of leaders throughout the Arab world leading up to the unveiling of the Trump administration’s “Deal of the Century” that was presented in Bahrain this week (June 25 - 26, 2019).

The two-day international meeting was led by President Trump’s son-in-law, Jared Kushner.  Leading up to the historic event, it had been billed as part one of the Trump administration’s blueprint to revive the Israeli-Palestinian peace process.

And while I thank God for orchestrating such an important event, the refusal of Palestinian leaders to participate is a clear indication of their unwillingness to listen. Or to even explore the potential for peace.

In fact, earlier this month, Palestinian leaders replied with venomous words and threats at the Trump administration for having the event, and towards the Arab countries agreeing to participate.

Palestinian Authority Prime Minister Mohammad Shtayyeh recently said, “Any solution to the conflict in Palestine must be political, and based on ending the occupation. The current financial crisis is a result of a financial war waged against us and we will not succumb to blackmail and extortion and will not trade our national rights for money.”

And while leaders of the Palestinian Authority warned Arab leaders to boycott the event or risk being branded traitors and collaborators with the enemy, the threats were regarded as insignificant compared to the potential for peace in the region.  Many dubbed the American-backed plan as “Peace to Prosperity.”

Get the Israel Prayer Guide

Do you want to know how to pray for Israel in greater detail and depth? Jewish Voice Ministries has put together this Intercessory Prayer Guide for Israel that provides focused, targeted requests to help you pray for the nation of God’s People. We hope this prayer guide can help both Messianic Jews and Christians pray their support for Israel.

Focusing on the economic crisis in the Middle East, the “Peace to Prosperity” plan —  if implemented – would double the Palestinians’ gross domestic product, create more than one million jobs and reduce Palestinian unemployment to single digits (it was 31 percent in 2018, according to the World Bank), and cut the Palestinian poverty rate by 50 percent.

The nations in attendance were an astonishing representation of the Arab world, including:

  • Jordan
  • Egypt
  • Morocco
  • United Arab Emirates
  • Saudi Arabia
  • Qatar
  • Bahrain (host country)

From what we’ve been able to gather, much of the proposal recommends solutions and resources to support the Palestinian people, including:

  • Border crossing updates
  • Power plant upgrades
  • Infrastructure improvements to boost tourism
  • Career counseling and job placement services
  • Rebuilding and modernizing Palestinian hospitals and health clinics

It seems that the whole goal of the economic portion of the proposal is to intentionally focus on the Palestinian people – and demonstrating first everything they can receive from making peace with Israel.

Yeshua (Jesus) is our only true hope for peace

While the world watches in the days and weeks ahead for the fuller unfolding and results of the peace talks, the one thing we do know for certain is this: Yeshua is our only true hope for peace. Both in Israel and throughout the world!

And it’s that conviction that drives everything Jewish Voice does on behalf of the Jewish people and their neighbors.

Jesus is the Prince of Peace. And where His Kingdom reigns... His people will experience the life-transforming peace of His presence.

That’s why, no matter if it’s providing humanitarian aid, clean water or supporting partner ministries in Israel, the most important aspect in all our work is introducing the Jewish people to their Messiah.

It’s the greatest way we, together, can bless the Jewish people!

Bless the Jewish people with your gift of support today

That’s why, in addition to praying for peace, I hope you’ll give a generous gift today to provide eternity-changing ministry and lifesaving resources to bring peace to the Jewish people – body and soul.
