My wife and I have three children. While we have been blessed to watch all three grow and mature, our middle child has been an interesting case study for me. Over the last two years she has gone from a very talkative child who depended on us to help her to do the smallest tasks to a strong minded, independent young woman who loves Yeshua and is still very talkative. While her outward appearance is the same, inwardly she has become something new. The Apostle Paul outlines in Ephesians chapter 2 the fact that while our outward appearance looks the same to the world, we have undergone an inward transformation through the mercy, grace and love of God through our relationship with Messiah. During the last 90 days, when so much of the things I have learned to love have been shut down or taken away, I have been able to rest in the fact that He has and continues to shape me from the inside and no amount of physical distancing can change that. While the world has been turned upside down, we as followers of Yeshua, can rest in the fact our inward man has a foundation that can’t be shaken.
You have been built on the foundation made up of the emissaries and prophets, with Messiah Yeshua Himself being the cornerstone.”
Our outward appearance and behavior may be shaped by the times we are living in, but our hope is anchored to the truth that our inward man has been reshaped and formed by the Father.
- Can you identify areas in your life that the Lord has reshaped in a way that only He could?
- What areas (maybe anxiety, doubt, fear, direction or another) are you ready to allow the Holy Spirit to reshape or change?
Prayer: Lord, thank you that my Hope is anchored to You. Today, I ask that you continue to renew and shape me so I become more of a reflection of your workmanship – created in Messiah Yeshua for good deeds, which You prepared beforehand so I might walk in them.
