Are Christians obligated to celebrate the biblical feasts and festivals with Israel?
The biblical calendar was given to Israel to foster the perpetuated annual remembrance of all of God’s redemptive and loving actions for His people. Israel is to recall God’s mighty acts in every generation in perpetuity.
Christians do well to learn all they can about these biblical feasts and festivals, for they are so instrumental to understanding God’s grand revelation of Himself. Many Christians have actually chosen to include Israel’s religious calendar into their own faith experience and prefer to keep the Passover, the Feast of Trumpets (Rosh Hashanah), the Feast of Tabernacles (Sukkot), and many more of the feasts. However, according to the decision of the Jerusalem Council recorded in Acts 15, Christians are not obligated to celebrate the biblical feasts and festivals of Israel.
