The scenery on the drive to Hosanna was breathtaking.
We had the chance to interact with some local children along the way.
The team arrived safe and sound at the hotel. Here’s a view from one of the rooms just before the team met together for dinner.

On Sunday, the team went to the clinic to finish stocking and setting up. Our photographer, Bob, went in with the “early team” and wrote:
“Shalom and good morning from Hosanna. We had heavy rain last night, and the first trip to the clinic was a muddy one. I came with the early team, and the van got stuck in the mud. We had local people come to push us out, but we still had to walk part of the way. It is now partly cloudy, and I think things are drying out, and the roads are much better. The local children are trying to find out what we are doing, and they are surprised that I know a little of the local language. As you can see, they are beautiful....”
Bob wrote:
“The bathrooms that are on site are in disrepair, and Habte is trying to get them working again. Being from a construction background I am amazed at the techniques being used, but more astounding is the speed with which they get the job done.”
New bathrooms
The concrete pour
“This is the floor to the two new restrooms that are under construction. The thing I love is that for many years to come there will be talk of our work in the Lord, and how much better things were when we left.”
Pre-clinic blessing
Four hours before our clinic doors opened on Sunday, God told a pregnant woman to start walking to Hosanna. Four hours later, she arrived to find our clinic. She was our first patient. Terfach gave birth to a healthy baby boy who she named Amanual.
Morning meeting in the lunch tent
Meeting up with a little friend
“Today I ran into an old friend,” Bob told us. “Her name is Ekram. She was with the lunch catering team in Tach Gayint. When Ekram saw me she was excited. Okay,” Bob admits, “maybe she was more excited to have me make her a balloon, but I did get a hug, and this precious smile.”
