One-on-One with a Jewish Voice Shalom Partner

January 14, 2021

What’s a Shalom Partner, you ask? Shalom Partners make up a special group of Jewish Voice partners who express their love for the Jewish people through a monthly gift to Jewish Voice. Their regular support has an ongoing impact in ministering to Jewish people in need. It enables us at Jewish Voice to plan Outreaches ahead of time, respond quickly when emergencies arise and very effectively steward God’s resources in a way that maximizes their kingdom impact.

We recently connected with one of our Shalom Partners, Maurita, to learn a little more about her heart for the Jewish people and why she became a Shalom Partner.

JV: Tell us a little about yourself.

Maurita: I’m originally from Philadelphia, and I’m a disabled veteran now living in Texas.

JV: How long have you been a Shalom Partner?

Maurita: I’ve been giving monthly to Jewish Voice since 2007.

JV: Why is it important to you to support ministry to Jewish people?

Maurita: I believe it’s important because the Word of God points us in that direction. The Bible says to pray for the peace of Jerusalem (Psalm 122:6), and God told Abraham that He wanted to bless those who blessed him (Genesis 12:3). I believe that we are in the Last Days, and the more we spread the Word, the more Jewish people will have an opportunity to accept Yeshua (Jesus). I believe that the quicker we fulfill the Great Commission, the quicker Yeshua will come. I also believe that God has a remnant of people, and we have to be about our Father’s business. I want to cooperate with the Holy Spirit!

JV: Why do you support Jewish Voice specifically?

Maurita: Because Jewish Voice proclaims the Good News of Yeshua and has a heart to educate Believers about their Jewish roots.

JV: What encouraged you to become a Jewish Voice Shalom Partner?

Maurita: Based on Isaiah 58, I had been giving to a Jewish ministry, but
I wasn’t sure if they were proclaiming Yeshua. Then I saw the Jewish Voice television program, and God gave me Malachi 3:10 about bringing the whole tithe into the house of God. Suddenly it was clear to me that Israel is the house of God. Israel is God’s Chosen People. And I started giving to Jewish Voice every month. The first thing I do when I get paid is give to Jewish Voice. If I get a raise, I increase my giving accordingly.

JV: What’s one of your favorite things about being a Shalom Partner?

Maurita: I’m sowing into good soil. And my prayer is that if I can’t go, I want to help send those who can. That’s reward enough.

JV: What’s one thing you would say to someone considering becoming a Jewish Voice Shalom Partner through regular monthly giving?

Maurita: We are charged to be good stewards. Read Malachi 3:10, where God challenges Israel to test Him and see that if they bring the whole tithe that He will open up the heavens and pour out blessings on them. You can’t out-give God!

You can become a Shalom Partner too! Not only do Shalom Partners receive benefits like insider information before anyone else and special gifts, they have the honor of sowing into the lives of Jewish people around the world and giving them the opportunity to receive the Good News of Jesus.
